ALLEN, Joanne Jean (nee Parry) - March 14, 1931 - August 7, 2007 God wanted her back so we had to let her go. Mother was a loving, kind-hearted person who loved God, her husband of 59 years Vernon Allen, her children Wayne Allen and his wife Trudy, Elaine Allen, Gwen Hess, Debbie Rivers and her husband Jim, and Glenn Allen without reservations or restrictions. She doted on her grandchildren Corinne Allen, Scott Allen, Jeff Allen, Katie Allen, Stefanie Allen, Brittany Allen, Robynn Marks, Alex Ligate, Olivia Fraser, Jennifer Hess, Chris Hess, Sean Hess, Starla Hess, Jamie Rivers, Celina Rivers, Amber Allen, Jesse Allen and Wayne Allen. A special place in her heart was occupied by her great grandchildren Dylan and Damien; Zac, Toby, Keegan and Alyssa; Daytona; Tristan and Gavin, and imminent arrival of Baby Allen by Amber. Mother will be missed enormously by her brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Eve Allen, Roy and Joyce Allen, and Audrey Woods, nephew Bob Parry and his wife Fran, and uncountable nieces and nephews. Mother was very active in Island life in Women's Institute, Ladies Auxiliary, The Trefrey Centre, The Royal Canadian Legion, and the Canadian Cancer Society. Mother was also the Cookie Lady at All Tribes Camp during the summer. Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Jocelyn Anglican Church, Jocelyn Township, St. Joseph's Island. Rev. Rosalie Goos officiating. There will be a reception held at the church afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Institute for the Blind would be appreciated. As Mother loved to say “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord“ and we know and take comfort in the fact that she is being met at the Gates of Heaven and told “well done, good and faithful servant“. 10775798
