CAMERON, Evelyn Mae (nee Warren) Evelyn Mae Cameron of Ottawa passed away at peace in her sleep on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the age of 90. Evelyn was born in Kenmore, ON and was retired from Bell Canada. As a female pioneer of her generation to the working world, Evelyn worked at "The Bell" for 32 years. After retiring from Bell Canada, Evelyn further worked at Canada Trust for 5 years after which time she devoted her retirement years to her personal interests and her loving family. Evelyn also was a charter member of the Pioneers Club at Bell Canada. Evelyn was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Warren of Ottawa. She was the widow of Edmund "Eddie" Cameron, they having been married for 30 years when Eddie passed away in 1964. What a wonderful and magical reunion it must have been in heaven on Friday night when Evelyn and Eddie united again in the grace of God. Evelyn is survived by her son, Maurice Cameron (the late Joan) of Ottawa, her granddaughter Jill Hnatyshyn (Steve) of Ottawa, her grandson Steven Cameron (Sara) of Grand Prarie, Alberta and her grandson Edmund (Tammy) of Scottsdale, Arizona. Her four great-grandchildren, Jason (Nolwen) Ryan, Samantha and Brittany further survive her. And they will very much miss their "Nannie-Muffin". The family wishes to thank the staff of the Salvation Army Grace Manor who cared for Evelyn in her last years. The love, care and kindness shown to Evelyn by the staff was beyond the call of duty. We shall forevermore be grateful for the care and kindness you extended to Evelyn. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Road on Tuesday, August 7th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 153 Woodroffe Ave. on Wednesday, August 8th at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Notre Dame Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Evelyn's name. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 8/6/2007 - 8/7/2007
