Gwynneth Marjorie MEREDITH

SIMPSON, Gwynneth (Gwen) Marjorie (Meredith) A truly gentle and loving soul, born March 2, 1923 in Ottawa, Ontario; died peacefully August 4, 2007 at The Salvation Army Grace Manor in Ottawa, less than six months after the passing of her beloved husband of 61 years, Kenneth O. Simpson. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Janet and Warren, Gary and Lori, and John and Violet, and grandmother of Darren, Kym, Andrew, Christie and Kelsey. Survived by her sister Barbara Scharf, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and long time friends. Gwen's family wishes to thank all these wonderful people, and the caring and compassionate staff of The Salvation Army Grace Manor for helping to make her last years more loving and comfortable. Gwen had a wonderful, family oriented life that began and ended in Ottawa surrounding nearly 40 years in Quebec, mainly in Pointe Claire where she met many life long friends. She also enjoyed many years of international travel with Ken and lived to see her cherished grandchildren grow into adults. We will all miss her forever. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18 at 1 pm at The Salvation Army Grace Manor, 1156 Wellington Street, Ottawa, followed by interment at Springhill Cemetery in Metcalfe at 3 pm.
