OBITUARY NICOLAAS Th. WELAGE April 26, 1936 - August 7, 2007 After a brief illness, Nic passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of seventy-one. He is survived by his dear wife Pat (nee Crookshanks) as well as relatives in Holland, Scotland, Australia and the U.S. He was respected by many and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Nic came to Montreal from Holland in 1959 after serving two years in the Royal Netherlands Airforce. His career included thirty-one years in the aviation industry principally with Innotech Aviation Limited, the highlights of which was his position as Maintenance Manager for the STOL demonstration program with Airtransit 1974-76. In retirement he continued to work with aircrafts until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. A heartfelt thank you to those who continued to keep in touch during this difficult time and to the caregivers in the Home Care Department of the CLSC Lachine. Special thanks also to Dr. Ionescu and Dr. Stiharu and their staff on 4N at the Lakeshore General Hospital for the excellent care provided. Visitation at J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Dr., Dorval (514-631-1511) on Monday August 13 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no service. Burial will take place in The Hague, Holland at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in remembrance, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Montreal or to the Brain Bank Research Department of the Douglas Hospital.
