RUSSELL, Violet (nee Rankin) - Surrounded by her loving family, Mom passed away Aug. 17, 2007 in her 81st year at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie. Beloved Mother of Hilary, Jeffrey (Carmela Lucarelli and Justin and Amanda) and Stewart (Kim James and Rebecca and Matthew). Also survived by sister Adeline (Albert Stuart), brother Tommy, sister-in-law Muriel Rankin, brother-in-law Ronald Russell and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Alex Rankin and Harold Rankin. Violet was a strong and remarkable woman with a hearty laugh who enjoyed life to the fullest, even after the tragic death of her husband, Victor, in 2001. She will be sadly missed by close friends Millie Hoover, Jim Wilkes and the Happy Hour Gang on 8th Street in Collingwood. She was the Queen of our hearts. Friends are invited to a celebration of her life at Fawcett Funeral Home, Friday August 24 at 2 p.m. at the Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine St., Collingwood.
