Kate MILENCOFF

MILENCOFF, Kate – Passed away peacefully after a very brief illness, with her family by her side, at the Welland Hospital on Friday, August 24, 2007, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her loving husband John Milencoff (1987). Beloved mother of Christine (Brian) McLean and Dave (Betty) Milencoff. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Marta) Sylvester, Valerie Sylvester, Scott (Ann) Milencoff and Sandra (Kumie) Pather. Loving great-grandmother of Michael John and Alexander Sylvester, Matthew and Evan Milencoff, and Thea Pather. She is survived by her sister Hope Tschirhart, and sisters-in-law Louise Lynes, Helen Tosheff and Helen Hurley. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kate was a longtime member of All Peoples' United Church and an active member of Broadway United Ladies' Association. Kate enjoyed spending time at the Rose City Seniors Centre, U.E. Retirees Association, and the Friendly Club, and was an avid supporter of the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children and the Niagara Symphony. For many years, Kate and her husband John operated Milencoff's Dry Goods Store on King Street and the Crowland Post Office. The family will receive friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where a service to celebrate her life will be conducted on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
