ROSSI, Gerald Vernon - It is with great sadness that the family of Gerry Rossi announce his passing on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Toronto East General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Rossi who he shared 44 wonderful years with on the lake. Dearly loved father of Rhonda Rossi and her husband D'Arcy Mathias of Toronto and Frank Rossi of Hamilton. Adoring Papa of Rafferty and Ronan Mathias. Dear brother of Erno Rossi and his wife Elaine and brother-in-law of Jean Rossi and Rose Rossi. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Irene Rossi and his brothers Joe and Keith. Gerry was a devoted and enthusiastic teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Eastdale Secondary School in 1989 where he also coached the Eagles hockey team. He was known for his incredible sense of humour, his passion for cooking and providing wisdom and love to those who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. Dearly loved and deeply respected by his family and friends, he will be greatly missed. The Rossi family will receive visitors at the PORT COLBORNE CHAPEL of the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOMES at 135 Clarence St. on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brian Bevan officiating.
