PURDY, Marie (Oates) – It is with great sadness that her family announces her passing on Tuesday, August 21, 2007. She is reunited with her beloved husband Gorman (1997) to whom she was married for 54 years. Loving mother to her son Allan and his wife Diena, and daughter Nancy. Cherished Nana of Brian and his wife Amira. She will be sadly missed by her sister Joan Sernasie, and dear friends Joanie Walton, Kim Law and Holly Nolan. She was predeceased by her brother George and his wife Betty, and her parents George and Hazel Oates. Private family services will be held and she will be laid to rest at the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mom was an animal lover and enjoyed numerous pets over the years. In lieu of flowers, she wished memorial donations be given to the Welland & District Humane Society. Donations may be arranged through J.J.
