OBITUARY ELIZABETH WELDON (BETTY) MADELINE February 29, 1916 - August 16, 2007 In her ninety-second year, Betty died in Sherbrooke, Quebec, peacefully in her sleep. Betty was born in Montreal in 1916, youngest child of Joseph William Weldon and Gertrude Mitchell Weldon. Betty was a granddaughter of Richard Chapman Weldon, KC, AM, PhD, DCL, founding Dean of Weldon Law School at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Survived by her sister Helen Weldon Anderson (97) of Perth, Ontario and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her brothers Arthur Mitchell Weldon, Q.C. and Richard Dale Weldon, Q.C., both of Montreal. Betty was a Section Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the war and returned to Montreal to study physiotherapy at McGill. She was Chief Physiotherapist at the Lachine General Hospital until 1971. Betty moved to Morin Heights and continued working as a physiotherapist until her retirement. She began her second career as a Librarian at the local library in 1976. In 1996, Betty suffered a stroke which forced her to leave her home and thanks to nephew, John Peter Weldon, she has found wonderfully personalized care in two different family-run foster care residences in the Sherbrooke area. Despite her illness, she never lost her lovely sense of humour and infectious laughter which brightened everyone's day. For the past five years she has been in the loving care of the Gillam Residence in Lennoxville.
