HUNTER, Maureen Ellen Maureen Ellen Hunter passed away peacefully at the Chinook Hospice, Calgary, on Monday, August 20, 2007 at the age of 62 years. Maureen is lovingly remembered by her husband of twenty-seven years, Murray Howland, son Graeme, daughter Clare, mother Maureen, sisters Kathy and Jean, brother Howie and sister-in-law Carol, nieces Emily and Annie and many other relatives and friends. Maureen was predeceased by her father, Howard. Maureen loved traveling. She worked in the mountains of Bolivia and the High Arctic. She put aside her travel plans to raise a family and pursue an academic career at the University of Calgary. Now after successfully raising a family and completing a distinguished career, Maureen was looking forward to traveling with her family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South (corner of Macleod Trail and Lake Fraser Gate) on Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Memorial Mass for Maureen will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 153 Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa, on Tuesday, August 28 at 10:30 am. Gathering in Parish Hall to follow.
