STARSHUK, Stephen Passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 15th, 2007. Survived by his beloved spouse, best friend and hiking companion Deborah, brother Frank (Gail), stepson George (Julie), daughters Carolyn (Jim) and Mari-Anne (Deno) plus three wonderful grandsons Carter, Michael and Nicholas. Steve's adventurous fun loving and positive spirit had a strong impact on those around him. Our memories together will always bring a smile to my face and a warm glow to my heart. In respect for his wishes, Steve was cremated and a private memorial celebrating his life was held at the family home. Thanks to Dr. Faught, Dr. Samant, the staff at the Ottawa Cancer Centre and the Cancer Floor of the General Hospital. Special thanks to Nurse Anne, Dr. Aldridge and Dr. Coulombe for their compassionate palliative care allowing Steve to be lovingly cared for at home. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 8/25/2007
