WITTES, Si ("Sonny"). Beloved husband, friend, and champion of Glorianne for 58 years; tender and wise father to Bobby and Julie; adored grandfather to Chloe, Melanie, Layla, and Katie; delighted and amazed great-grandfather to Talia and Safia; and grateful uncle to Paul, Carla, and Shelli, died of natural causes in Sarasota, Florida on Wednesday, August 29 at age eighty-one. Si was born and raised in Montreal, lived in Ann Arbor (Michigan) and Boston, and then retired from his practice as a clinical psychologist to Sarasota, Florida. He was a compassionate, joyful, and accepting man who blessed the lives of those who knew him. A graveside service will be held in Toronto on the morning of Sunday, September 2, in the Darchei No'am section of the Pardes Shalom Cemetery, 10953 Dufferin St. (north of Keele). The family will be sitting shiva at the home of Bobby Wittes on Sunday through Tuesday, September 2 to 4, at 192 Thornway Avenue, Thornhill, ON, tel. (905) 660-6665. Thereafter, Glorianne, Julie, and Bobby will complete a private shiva in Sarasota. A memorial service in Sarasota will take place in the near future.
