Barbara E. EVANS

COUCH, Barbara E. - Peacefully at the Trillium Ridge Retirement Centre on Friday, July 13, 2007 with her family by her side. Barbara in her 76th year is predeceased by her husband, Godfrey and father Jim Evans. Survived by her sons David (Laurel) of Kingston and Paul (Diane) of Aylmer, Quebec. Devoted 'Nan' to Katelyn, Alyson, Erin, Jeremy and Aimee. She will be dearly missed by her close family in England. Barb leaves behind her mother Lily Evans, sisters Heather Basher (Wesley), Gloria Bowden (Tony), and brothers James Evans (Judith) and many nieces and nephews. Barb emigrated to Canada from Cornwall, England in 1957. She retired from St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital after 35 years in the nursing profession. She led a very active and full life and enjoyed travelling and volunteering at many church and senior events. She was very appreciative and humbled by the support she received from her many close friends. The family will receive friends at the CENTRAL CHAPEL of the GORDON F. TOMPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 49 Colborne St. (at Clergy) on Tuesday, July 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In keeping with Barb's wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 18th at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens, Glenburnie, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the St. Elizabeth Palliative Care Centre - Kingston. 10742790
