PORTER, David A. Retired from Alcan Member of The Ancient St. John's, No. 3, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite and Kingston and District Shrine Club. Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday, August 17, 2007. David Porter, in his 79th year, beloved husband of the late Doreen (McIlroy). Loving father of Brian Porter (Lori) of Kingston. Affectionately know as 'Poppy' to Kyle, Steven and Justin. Survived by his sister Audrey McDougall of Ottawa and by numerous nieces and nephews. David is predeceased by his sisters, Vera Fowler, Helen Bush, Dorothy Schearer, Irene Rushworth, Wilna (Billie) Harpell, Thelma Lancaster and Christine Porter, and also by brother Fred Porter. Resting at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, CATARAQUI CHAPEL (1900 John Counter Boulevard). Friends will be received on Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, August 21, at 11:00 am., with Rev. Job van Hartingsveldt officiating. Cremation to follow with inurnment at Cataraqui Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation, Diabetes Association or the charity of choice, in Mr. Porter's memory. (Donations by cheque only please). 10789872
