PACKET, Ernest - With the love and support of his family during a seven year struggle since having a stroke, ERNEST PACKET of Wyoming passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2007 at University Hospital, London in his 77th year. He was the loving husband of Donna (nee Brush), a loved father to Darlene and Brian Freer of Wyoming, Charlene and Scott Hummel of Sarnia, and Gary Packet of Wyoming, and grandfather to Christopher and Justin Freer. He will be missed by his brothers Valere and Ruth Packet of Wyoming and Ray and the late Joanne Packet (2007) of Wyoming, his sisters Cecile and Herb Clements of Wyoming and Alice and Pat Burns of Oil City, and his sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Ernie enjoyed approximately 50 years employment with Wanstead Farmers Co-op with many of those as manager of the Wyoming branch and served Wyoming as a firefighter for 31 years, including 10 years as Fire Chief. Visitors will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WYOMING CHAPEL, Broadway St., Wyoming. Parish prayers will be offered at 3:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Philip's Church, Petrolia on Friday, September 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wyoming. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, C.E.E. Hospital Foundation, or the Wyoming Firemen's Association.
