MATHIAS, Stephen I. - (formerly of Johns- Mansville & Nordfibre) - Mr. Stephen Mathias died on Thursday, September 13th, 2007 at the North Bay General Hospital, he was in his 77th year. Stephen was predeceased by his wife Helen (Bester). He was the loving father of Brian (Sherry) of Marathon, Gerald (Marguerite) of Powassan, Ronald (Joanne) of Powassan, Deborah Mathias of Powassan, Raymond (Tammy) of Powassan and Rick (Patty) of North Bay and grandfather of Krista, Dylan, Zachary, Whitney, Kelsey, Kimberly, Justin (Eryn), Taunia, Dexter and Jerrica, and great-grandfather of Mackenzie-Lee. Steve was the dear brother of Claire Mendes (George) of Scarborough, Dennis Mathias (Jean) of Peterborough, Norma Jacobs (Doug, deceased) of Barrie and Ray Mathias (Cathy) of Scarborough. He was predeceased by his parents Ismay (Cardoza) and Francis Mathias. The family will receive visitors at the PAUL FUNERAL HOME in Powassan (724-2024) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Legion Tribute on Sunday at 7 pm and Prayer Service at 8:45 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Asisclo Podelino on Monday at 11:00 am in St. Joseph's Church in Powassan.
