CHAPMAN, Richard Hewitt - April 2, 1931- Sept 18, 2007 It is with great sorrow that the family of Richard Hewitt Chapman announce his passing on September 18, 2007 at the Copper Terrace Home in Chatham, Ontario, with family by his side. Mr. Chapman was in his 77th year and has gone to be with his Lord and to re-join his parents, pre-deceased: Alonzo and Mildred Chapman, formerly of Fort Erie, Ontario and sister Nora Ellsey of Lowell, Mass. Mr. Chapman leaves behind so many who loved him for his wonderful sense of humor, his compassion for others and his genuine zest for life. These include his devoted partner of twenty-five years, Joyce Dyer of Chatham, stepchildren Peter Dyer, Wendy Chase of Chatham, Dianne Miller of Ft. McMurray, Alberta and Robert Dyer of Carstairs, Alberta. Also his loving grandchildren Travis, Cameron and Julia of Chatham, Amy and Alison in Ft McMurray, Mitchell and Laura in Carstairs and Matteo in Kelowna BC. A heartfelt special thank you to the wonderful people at The Copper Terrace Home, adorable and caring residents and to all the staff on 2R for their tremendous efforts all thru Mr. Chapman's stay. “Grandpa Dick's“ special interests included politics. delegate at the national Reform Party convention in London, On.),all sports, especially his beloved Buffalo Bills, (LET'S GO BUFFALO !!) and a special love for jazz (member of the London Jazz Society). Thank you Richard Chapman, thank you for so much, we will indeed treasure the memories. A memorial service in Mr. Chapman's honor is to be held Monday October 1, 2007 at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Rd North in London, ON at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appropriate. 10835548
