Sophia CERVENY

KORMENDY, Sophia (Cerveny) - passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, on Thursday September 20, 2007. Sophia was born in Slovakia 87 years ago to Anna (Haas) and Jozef Cerveny. She is survived by her sons Joseph Kormendy and his wife Brenda of Blenheim, Marian “Mike“ Kormendy and his wife Diana of Guelph, and her daughters Anne Provart of Toronto and Susan Kormendy of Toronto. Missing their Grandmother, Great Grandmother are nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is Sophia's sister Irene Tabacek of Ridgetown. She is predeceased by her brother John Cerveny. The Kormendy family will receive friends for visiting at the BLENHEIM COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 60 Stanley Street, Blenheim on Friday September 21, 2007 from 2:00-4:00 p.m & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will take place at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday September 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Friends wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of Sophia are asked to consider either the St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Diabetes Association.
