GUZOWSKI, Irena Wladyslawa (nee Marczyk) - Born January 7, 1920 in Warsaw, Poland. Passed away peacefully at the Hotel-Dieu Shaver Hospital on September 1, 2007, in her 88th year of life. Predeceased by her beloved husband Felix Adam Guzowski. Irena was a Veteran of the Second World War, British 8th Army. “I resided in St. Catharines, by choice, for more than half a century. Never regretted a day of it. To my friends and acquaintances; a most cordial thank you for making my life so happy! To my in laws: Pasco, Vi, Ed, Karen, Brian and family, your love is so precious. To my Children Irene, John, Ann and (the late Roman) it was an honour to be your mother and love you! Katie and Ryan, my grandchildren, you are super icing on my cake! Love forever to you all! Irena“. A special thanks to Dr. K. Park, doctors and staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital - NHS, and the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital. In accordance with Irena's wishes cremation has taken place, with no visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Irena's life will be held in the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow service in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
