TONKONOH, Michael (Mike) - Resting safe in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Mike went to join his mother, Vera (2007) and his father Dmytro (1989) to rest in peace. Mike leaves behind his daughters Carrie (Joseph) Nixon and Pamela (Jesse) Wright as well as his beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Drew, Madalyn and Lucas who were his very reason for living. He is survived by Vivien Tonkonoh (nee Matthews). Also surviving Mike are his brother Boris; Boris's daughters Lindsey Dawn and Krysta Lee, Mike's sisters Mary (Glen) Anderson and Joanne. He was a special uncle to Kenn, Steff, Gregory, Corey and Tyler. Mike was born in Pforzheim, Germany on January 5, 1948 and immigrated to Bissette, Manitoba where he dreamed of returning some day. He then moved on to St. Catharines where he worked at General Motors for 30 years. Mike loved to spend time up north fishing as well as listening to country music and watching the Maple Leafs and Blue jays. Mike looked forward to spending more time with his grandchildren after retirement. The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Friday, September 14, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at St. George's Anglican Church (next door to the funeral home). In honour of his love for all children donations to the Niagara Peninsula Children's Centre or the charity of your choice would be appreciated, Cremation and interment to follow. We love you. 10823500
