MERRITT, Walter Stuart - Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday September 12, 2007 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Hilda (1993). Dear Father of Betty, Sheila and her husband Bill McLean. Loving grandfather of Karen (Shane), Richard (Karolyn), Dianne (Rob) and great-grandfather of Dana, Daniel, Britany and William. Brother of Howard of St. Catharines, the late Irwin and the late Harold. Walter commenced employment with the H.S.R. in 1947 and retired December 1979. Member of Erskine Presbyterian Church. Walter joined the R.C.D. (Royal Canadian Dragoons) in 1940 and served in England and Italy before returning home in 1946. A private service will be held at Bayview Crematorium Chapel, Spring Gardens Road, Burlington on Saturday September 15, 2007.
