OBITUARY LESLIE HARRY ROSE Leslie Harry Rose of Williamstown, Ontario, beloved husband of Thelma Rose (nee Heaney), died suddenly on August 31, 2007 at the age of eighty-four while on a family vacation in Maine. Les was born June 15, 1923 in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec, son of Harry and Alice Rose, and attended McDonald High School. Leslie served in the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II for four years including participation in D-Day. Following the war he received a Bachelor of Science in Geology from McGill University, graduating in 1947. He had a successful career, employed by Rose & LaFlamme in Montreal and by Pfizer Canada both in Toronto and Montreal where he retired as Sales Manager in 1989. Leslie is survived by his wife of sixty years Thelma, as well as their three children Tierney and Penelope (Stephen) of Toronto and Michael (Susan) of Calgary. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Kathleen, Luke, Angus, Brigid, Brendan, Jeremy and Aidan. Les is also survived by his two dear sisters Marjorie Rose and Patricia Rose of Montreal and his sister-in-law Sheelagh Jones (nee Heaney) and brother-in-law Ted Jones of Vaudreuil, Quebec. He was predeceased by his eldest sister Elizabeth (Donald) Cochrane. Les will be fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, salesman and a great friend to all who enjoyed his company. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613) 347-3629 on Thursday, September 6, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Lancaster on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to The NorWesters and Loyalist Museum, 19651 John St., Williamstown, ON, K0C 2J0 and the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Leslie, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows, memories live.
