GOYER, Kathleen (nee Heafey) Oct. 29, 1926 - Sept. 3, 2007 Passed away at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa. Predeceased by her husband Victor Goyer, parents Owen and Sarah Heafey, brothers Basil, Hillary, Jack, Gilbert, Allan, and one sister Vera, all of Maniwaki, Quebec. Kay is survived by daughters Sharon Tamaro, Vancouver, Sheila Redcrow (Alex), Saddle Lake, Alberta; grandchildren Evan, Jessie (Dean), Tasha, Leah and Neil, great-grandchildren Keenan, Tyrelle, Sharonne and Savon, and nephew John Owen Heafey (Carole), numerous cousins and friends. Kay had an amazing spirit and will be sadly missed by all. Cremation has taken place. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 9/8/2007 GOYER, Catherine Ann (nee Heafey) Kay "Kathleen" passed away on Monday September 3rd at the age of 80 due to acute heart failure at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Dear mother of Sharon Tamaro and Sheila Redcrow (Alex). Loving grandmother to Jessie, (Dean) Tasha, Leah, Neil and Evan, great grandmother to Keenan, Tyrell, Sharone and Savon. Aunt to nephew John and niece Gladys. Kay also leaves many special and dear friends in the Ottawa area. Born in St. Mary's, Idaho on October 29, 1922 and raised in Maniwaki, she was the youngest of seven children of Sarah and Owen Heafey. She is predeceased by her brothers Jack, Hilary, Basil, Gilbert, Allan and by sister Vera. Kay served in the Women's Army Corp in 1944-45 and was active in the Royal Canadian Legion. She lived in Montreal, New Haven, Conn., Quebec City, Germany and finally settled in Ottawa in 1966. She worked at both the National Art Gallery and the Museum of Science and Technology for many years. Her enthusiastic joie de vivre will be warmly remembered by family and friends. Many thanks to cousin and physician Dr. Sandra Gendron as well as the staff at the Ottawa Civic Geriatric Assessment Unit and at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital. At Kay's request, cremation has taken place. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date to be announced. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 9/15/2007
