MITCHELL, FREDERICK - The family of 'Uncle Fred' announce his passing in Harrogate, England, September 6, 2007 at the age of 83. Fred will be sadly missed by two surviving sisters, Ivy Allaby [Lloyd] of Passekeag, NB and Joan Smith, Chelshire, England; as well as a daughter-in law, Judy [Steeves] Mitchell; and sister-in law, Ena Mitchell, both of England. He also leaves many nieces and nephews who will cherish the memories of his many trips to Canada. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his wife, Madge; son, Mick; as well as several brothers and a sister. Fred came to Canada for the first time about eight years ago to meet the sister and brother-in-law he had long lost touch with. This first visit produced more family than he could imagine. He loved to shower everyone with affection and especially enjoyed his many trips to Sussex to visit the girl's at the shops and restaurants where he got to know them all by first names and always looked forward to seeing them and sharing many laughs. Many of these people showed Fred their kindness by sending him cards of encouragement when he became ill and could no longer make the trips to Canada. Fred will be buried in England but will not be forgotten by all who got to know ' family from England'. Rest in peace. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Fred's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes. September 10, 2007
