Donald Hume PARKER

PARKER, DONALD "HUME" - Unexpectedly at his residence in Lords Cove NB on September 9, 2007, Mr. Donald Hume Parker, husband of the late Sarah Bernice (Conley) Parker. Born at Deer Island on August 18th 1931, he was a son of the late Austin and Hilda Mae (Richardson) Parker. A loving father and grandfather he is survived by two sons, Jerome (Laura Lee) and Michael (Carrie) both of Lords Cove; three grandchildren, Holly (Allison) Belliveau of Leonardville NB, Zachary Parker (Carol Butler) of Lords Cove and Candace Parker of Fort St. John BC; two great grandchildren, Jarrett and Bradley Belliveau; his companion, Bonnie Bishop of Lords Cove; one sister in law, Elna Parker of Lords Cove; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Hume was predeceased by one brother, Owen Parker. Prior to his retirement, Hume had worked for the Department of Transportation as a Ferry Captain for 20 years and enjoyed both building and tending his Weir's, before and after his retirement from the DOT. He was a member of the Lords Cove Church of Christ and a former member of the Deer Island Orange Lodge. Hume was also was a member of the Fundy Weir Fisherman's Association and in his early years a member of the Deer Island Band. Resting at the Lords Cove Church of Christ from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Murray Spencer and Rev. Glenn Cox officiating, followed by interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder's Head NB. Visiting will take place at the church on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. In Hume's memory donations to the MS Society or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
