BISHOP, MARGOT MACAULAY, 72, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville following a series of strokes. Born and raised in Saint John, N.B., she was the daughter of the late William and Louise (Sweet) Macaulay. Margot had a career in the medical field as a radiation therapist. She received her training in both Canada and England. Margot and her husband John were married in Saint John, N.B., and returned to England together where she supported her husband as he completed his PhD. They eventually settled and raised their five children in the United States before retiring to Nova Scotia. One of Margot's passions was to knit, always giving her knitted items to others and donating many to the hospital. She volunteered at the Chrysalis House in Kentville. She looked forward to her weekly meetings with her close friends in the community. Her family remembers Margot as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Bishop; sons, Donald, Geoffrey and Gregory; daughters, Denise and Rachel; brother, W. Donald Macaulay, Fredericton, N.B.; 10 grandchildren; five nephews and several grand nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or funeral service for Mrs. Bishop by the family's request. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 5 Leverett Ave., Kentville (902-678-2151).
