OSBORN, Flora - A memorial service and Celebration of Life of long-time Timmins resident, Flora Osborn, will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2007 at 10:30 am at St. Matthew's Cathedral. Flora passed away on April 12, 2007. She is survived by her daughter Ann Osborn-Seyffert (Peter) of Thunder Bay, son Rick (Saundra) of Oshawa, Linda Osborn of Nassau, Bahamas and Sylvie Osborn (Bruce Locke) of London, Ontario. She is also survived by her sister Joan Sule of Toronto, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Born in Winnipeg, Flora came to Timmins in 1937 and during her 70 years generously contributed her time and energy to numerous organizations, including school boards, the Red Cross, the TB Association, Welcome Wagon, the Porcupine Music Festival and the First United Church. She helped establish Duplicate Bridge in Timmins and taught at Northern College for 17 years. She was a member of the Porcupine Choristers, a world traveler, a seamstress and a charter member of the Porcupine Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild. She also assisted with Meals on Wheels, worked at the Lord's Kitchen and was a staunch supporter of the Timmins Symphony Orchestra.The Most Rev. Caleb J. Lawrence, Archbishop of Moosonee, will officiate. A reception at the church will be followed by the interment of cremated remains at the Tisdale Cemetery.
