ASHTON, Alma Harriet (nee Videan) (1921-2007) Recently of Rexton, New Brunswick, passed away August 25, 2007 in her 85th year. Mom's life was devoted to extending warmth and hospitality to her family and friends. During most of the last three decades, Mom continued to offer her home for conversation, food, well-wishing and news, in spite of her difficult struggles with Muscular Dystrophy and most recently with cancer. Devoted wife of Jim Ashton (1984). Loving Mother of Allan Ashton (Shirley,2007), Tecumseh, ON., Fr. Tom Ashton, Windsor, ON., Bill and Jan Ashton, Fredericton, N.B., and Lori Ashton and Ken Brookes, Phuket, Thailand and Prospect N.S. Proud Grandmother of Cassie, Jeremy, Amurlee, Evelyn and Myles. Great Grandmother of Allyssa and Sterling. Our Mother, Alma will be at Thompson's Funeral Home in Richibucto, N.B. Monday, August 27th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM with prayer service at 8.30 PM. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, August 28th at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Rexton, followed by a luncheon in the parish hall. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, on September 5th, at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Windsor, ON. A luncheon in the parish hall will follow. Cremains to be interred at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Windsor ON near her beloved husband Jim at a later date.
