Kenneth GRIFFITHS

GRIFFITHS, Kenneth Peacefully, on August 23, at the age of 96, at Cedarwood Village, Simcoe, ON, of natural causes. Ken was the beloved husband of Daisy, who passed away in 1994. He is survived by his children, Brian, Kay (Ian MacPherson), and Lynne (Briane Hartley). Also survived by grandchildren Tracey (David Band), Laura (Joe Norris), Suzie McNeil, Jen (Kip Daynard), Jeremy (Andrea MacPherson). Great Grandad to Samuel and Olivia Band, Sinead Norris, Solana and Gwynneth Daynard, and Cooper and Chloe MacPherson. Also remembered by nieces and nephews, including David Griffiths (Liz) of Mississauga, ON, John Griffiths (Brenda) of England; Pam Smith, David Williams, and Eiddron Griffiths of Wales, and by his sister-in-law, Rose Allen of England. Ken was born in South Wales, and forever retained his love for all things Welsh, especially music. An accomplished piano player, he enjoyed this pastime right to the end. Ken was also a veteran of WW II, serving in Europe with the British Army. He and Daisy, with the three children, immigrated to Canada in 1953, settling in Windsor, ON, where he soon found employment with CKLW-TV, later part of the CBC network, who would be his employer until he retired. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service, and a celebration of Kens long life, will be held on Friday, September 28, at Erindale Presbyterian Church, 1560 Dundas St West, Mississauga, ON. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 pm, with the service at 3 pm, and a reception to follow. The family would like to thank the staff of Cedarwood Village, 500 Queen St. West, Simcoe, ON, for their outstanding dedication and compassionate care while Ken was a resident.
