AMBROSE, Thomas Leck January 12, 1923 August 18, 2007 It is with heartfelt emotion that we announce the passing of Tom Ambrose. He is lovingly remembered by Gwen, his wife of 54 years, his elder daughter Catherine, husband Peter (Jamieson) and their two children, Brett and Taylor, and their younger daughter Susan, husband Jim (Caruth) and their two children, Brooke and Marc. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Croteau of Calgary, Alberta. Tom was born on January 12th, 1923 in Raymond, Alberta and resided in Brentwood Bay since 1967. He served in the war as an aeroengine mechanic and this formed the basis of his career. He was an enthusiastic gardener and woodworker. Tom's positive attitude, calming spirit and twinkling blue eyes will be greatly missed by his family & friends and will be treasured in their fond memories. Memorial Service is to be held on Saturday, September 1st at 2 pm at the Brentwood Bay Anglican Chapel, 792 Sea Drive, Brentwood Bay. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Tom's memory to either the Canadian Diabetic Association (#276 2950 Douglas Street, Victoria, B.C., V8T 4N4) or the Palliative Care Unit c/o The Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation (2166 Mt. Newton X-Road, Saanichton, B.C., V8M 2B2). Special thanks to the Diabetic Association, Dr. Von Westarp and our family doctor, Dr. Graham Davidson for their support over the years; and the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Staff, especially the Palliative Care Unit, for their care during the last weeks of his life. 402129 Published in the Victoria Times-Colonist from 8/24/2007 - 8/25/2007.
