BAIN, Mervyn Wilbert 1942-2007 - It is with great sadness that the family of Mervyn announces the unexpected death of their Husband, Father, Son and Papa, on Friday, July 6, 2007 at his beloved cottage, River's Edge, Hastings, Ontario. He was the cherished son of Jean and the Late Wilbert Bain, loving husband to Leslie and wonderful father to Shelley and her husband Shane Talbot, sons Kent, Jason and his wife Denise. Devoted Papa to Parker, Quinn, Mason, Riley, Brant, Samarra, Michael and Hayley. Predeceased by his brothers Willis, Byron and Ivan and survived by his siblings Sheila, Sharon, Roger, Ernie and Tim. Merv will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mervyn's life began in Eagle Lake, Ontario. After several years in the same grade in High School, he met Leslie at Chinook Lodge in Haliburton. They then moved to Toronto where they raised their three children. He then continuously expanded and nourished his company M.E.T Utilities Ltd. right up to his final days. This last decade, he spent at their cottage, River's Edge from spring until fall. Most recently, Swervyn's dream to revisit Eagle Lake in his cherished '61 Chevy Impala was realized as he was reunited with his many friends and family celebrating his Mother's 89th Birthday and Canada Day at West Guilford. One of his final wishes to joy ride in his car with his grandchildren also came to be true. Friends will be received at SHERRIN FUNERAL HOME, 873 Kingston Road, Toronto (west of Victoria Park) 416 698 2861 on Tuesday July 10, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. A celebration of his life will be shared by Rev. John Smith in the chapel at 6 p.m. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 345 at 81 Peard Road (Victoria Park, north of St. Clair). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of Canada. PAPA, YOU HAVE LEFT A HUGE HOLE IN OUR HEARTS. WE LOVE YOU BEYOND WORDS.
