McDONALD, Alex - Suddenly at Bluewater Health, Mitton Street Site Sarnia, on Friday, September 21, 2007, Alex Nathaniel McDonald, of Sarnia, at the age of 82. Alex was born in Nova Scotia on February 24, 1925. Loving husband of the late Mary McDonald (Grant) (1996). Loved father of Brenda (Robert) Kellie of London, Robert (Phyllis) McDonald of Sarnia, and Sandra (Nick) Symes of Sarnia. Alex will be sadly missed by grandchildren Spencer and Janis of London, and Samantha of Sarnia. Brother to John B. McDonald of New Brunswick, and the late Walda McDonald. Alex served in the merchant marines for several years and travelled around the world. He retired from the army after 30 years of service and served in WWII. Alex also worked at CNR for 11 years and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Family and friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, Brigden on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 26th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jacquie Burnie officiating. Interment at Blackcreek Cemetery. Sympathy through donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
