SWEET, Ronald E. - Veteran WWII, R.C.E. - Retired as Purchasing Manager for the Frontenac County Board of Education after 37 years of service; Past-President of Purchasing Managers Association of Canada, for Eastern Ontario - Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Monday, September 24, 2007, in his 86th year. Ron Sweet, beloved husband of 61 years to Betty (Parkin) of Kingston. Loving father of Barbara Armstrong and her husband Charles of Ottawa and Marilyn Casselman and her husband Kevin of Kingston. Devoted “Grandpa“ to Scott (Christine), Jocelyne (Chris), Erinn (Colin), and great grandpa to Finn. Predeceased by parents Carl and Iva Sweet and brother Sinclair Sweet. The family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. Lew Valliant, Dr. John McMillan, and all of Ron's caregivers on Connell 3, for their loving care and compassion. Cremation with inurnment at Christ Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME (1900 John Counter Boulevard) on Friday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Job van Hartingsveldt officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, one hour prior to service, and in the James Reid Reception Centre immediately following the service.
