Estelle Marie HOELKE

Esther Burnie, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre on Saturday, September 29, 2007. She was 80. Born in Eganville, daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Soike) Hoelke. Esther worked in the Dietary Department at the Hanover and District Hospital until retiring. Mother of Mel (Paula) Burnie, Hal (Donna) Burnie, both of Hanover, and Lee Ann Burnie (Clint) Duggan of Toronto. Grandmother of Hanna, Hayley and Erin. Survived by brothers Herbert Hoelke of Victoria, B.C., Ernie Hoelke (Leanne) of Stoney Creek and sisters Chris (Art) Wendt of Sarnia and Myrtle Hoelke of Pembroke. Predeceased by her husband William, her sisters Mabel, Marie and Florence and her brothers Leslie and George. Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Sunday, 2-4 pm. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 10:30 am, at Holy Family Church, Hanover. Father Mervin Perera officiated. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Hanover. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Hanover and District Hospital were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
