JENKINS, Isobel Jean (nee Irwin) - Born September 6, 1916 New Westminster, B.C. Passed away peacefully in her 92nd year on October 2, 2007 in Toronto with family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Tom Cullis Jenkins. Dear sister of Kenneth Irwin and his wife Florence. Predeceased by parents Edward and Eleanor Irwin (nee Brown) of Peterborough County. Deeply beloved mother of Michael, Elaine, Kevin and Catherine. Mother-in-law of Mari, Gary Blampied and Livia. Grandmother of Thomas and Maia. Aunt of Eleanor Andrews and the late Nancy Irwin. Great-aunt of Mark and Adam. Early childhood on the prairie of Alberta, grew up in Harvey Township and graduated from PCIVS and Toronto School of Business in Peterborough. Secretarial and management careers with Comstock's, Peterborough Lumber and Household Finance Corporation. Volunteer work included reading for the blind and charitable works with the IODE and the USC. An accomplished oil painter, she also enjoyed the piano, needlework and baking for her family. She loved nature and the outdoors, and appreciated experiencing other countries with Tom and family. Many thanks to friends, her personal caregivers and staff at Glebe Manor, Toronto for their care and support. Cremation has taken place. The family will have a private memorial.
