McDONALD, George B. - Peacefully, with his family after a brief illness, at the Brantford General Hospital on Friday, September 21, 2007 in his 83rd year, George B. McDonald. Beloved husband of Ruth (nee Grummett) for 58 years. Dear father of John and his wife Susan, R.R.1, Paris, Jane McDonald and her husband Thom Morrissey, Parry Sound, and Eleanor Savory and her husband Ken, R.R.1, Paris. Loving grandfather of Scott, Brian, Ian and Clark McDonald, Andrew and Shaun Morrissey, Valerie and Hilary Savory and 5 greatgrandchildren. Predeceased by sisters Janet Paris, Jean Graham, and Katie Hill and by brothers John and Clark. Also remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada and Scotland, U.K. Mr. McDonald was the Director of Sales for the Canadian Order of Foresters (Canadian Foresters Life) for many years. He was active in many community organizations since coming from Scotland in 1947 and was an avid golfer. He had been a president of the Brantford Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Economic Development Board, chairman of the Visitor and Convention Bureau, chairman of the Brantford Board of Parks and Recreation, as member of the Probus Club and was instrumental in founding the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition. George also had served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. A private family service was held at MCCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME 495 Park Rd. N. on Monday followed by cremation.
