Pappone, John Patrick 1944 – 2007 The family announces with great sorrow his death on Friday June 22, 2007 at the Timmins and District Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. John was predeceased by his parents Antonio Pappone and Angela Palangio Pappone. He is survived by his brothers Arthur of Timmins and Rene (Mary) of Gatineau, Quebec; two nieces Annette and Elizabeth; and a nephew Jeff; and close cousins and their families. John was manager of human resources, safety and security when he retired from Kidd Creek Mine after some 35 years of service. Prior to that he was a counselor at the federal Department of Manpower and Immigration where he helped to resettle Czechoslovakian refugee in 1968-1969. He also worked part-time at CKGB Timmins between 1964 and 1967. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday June 26, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Sacred Heart Church – Elevator Project or the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
