TASTULA, Valpas “Wally“ - In loving memory of Valpas “Wally“ Tastula 74 years, who passed away Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Born in Kaustinen, Finland, he married Maija 55 years ago. Valpas worked as a heavy equipment operator at INCO for 36 years, retiring in 1990. He was always happy and he was devoted to his family. He was a member of St. Matthew's Church and the Sudbury South Seniors. Valpas was a skilled woodworker and a gifted musician, sharing his music at church and at home. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp on Tyson Lake. The family wish to thank Dr. M. Dube, the nurses and staff on 4th and 8th floors at the Laurentian Site, and Pastor Jussi Kataja for the care and kindness. Beloved husband of Maija (Valikaugas) Tastula of Sudbury. Loving father of Juha (wife Sharon), Pirjo (friend John) and Marja (husband Bill Zadow) all of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Cheryl, Ben, Trisha, Sara, Eric, Adam and Liisa. Sadly missed by family in Finland and cousins Elmer Tastula (wife Susan and family) of Trenton. Arvo Tastula also of Trenton and Anja Braiden (husband Bill and family) of Nanaimo B.C.. A Private Family Funeral Service at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Monday, June 25th, 2007. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
