Jean Agnes St. Louis (Davis) of Haileybury passed away at the Espanola Nursing Home on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 91 years of age. Jean was born in Cobalt, Ontario on March 19, 1916 to Aben and Catherine Davis. She was the identical twin of the late Eilean Burton. In 1939 she married Ernest (Ernie) St. Louis who predeceased her in 1998. Jean was active throughout her life, playing softball in her youth and golfing for many years. She was also an avid curler winning many trophies and was a “life member” of the Cobalt-Haileybury Curling Club. Jean was very active in the United Church as a member of the UCW. Jean was the dear mother of the late Sharon; Lynn (Paul Wyatt) of Espanola; Erna (Mike Wright) of Leamington; the late Robert (Gail) of Haileybury; Paul (Geraldine) of Pembroke; Roger (Deborah) of Calgary, Alberta; David (Carla) of St. Mary’s. She will be missed by her grandchildren Lori, Graeme, Eric, Kristin, Marc, Robbie, Robert, Leigh, Hunter and Brady; and by her eight great-grandchildren. Jean was the last member of the Aben Davis family and she was predeceased by brothers Howard, Floyd, Murray, Eric and Greg; and sisters Gaynoll, Eilean and Mabel. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church in Haileybury on Thursday, July 5 at 1 p.m. Interment of ashes will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations to St. Andrew’s United Church (Haileybury) or Community Cancer Support would be greatly appreciated by the family. Contributions may be left at Buffam-Leveille Funeral Home.
