MORGAN, Mabel Rosa (nee Lee) - In loving memory of Mabel Rosa Morgan (nee Lee), 93 years, who passed away on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 at Extendicare Falconbridge. She was born in Pontypridd, Wales and as a child immigrated with her family to Canada. She married David Morgan in 1936 and lived in Falconbridge until his retirement after which they settled in Sudbury. Her husband David Morgan and her brothers Alfred Lee, Joseph Lee, Albert Lee and Walter Lee predeceased. The Morgans opened their home for the duration of WWII to two child evacuees from Britain, Bill Winter (of Glasgow, Scotland) and Jim Winter (deceased). She was a master at needlework. An Active member of the Women's Institute of the Anglican Church, she was also the “Choir Mother“ for the Youth Choir at the Anglican Congregation in Falconbridge in the early 1960's having sewn all of the choir robes. Over the years her afghans and mittens were in great demand and she knit and donated thousands of caps and mittens for premature babies at local hospitals. Her daughter Gwynne Hiser, son-in-law Dr. Thomas Hiser, granddaughter Laura Hiser and grandson Matthew Hiser and his wife Susan survive her. Special thanks to her nephew and godson Joe Lee and his wife Connie. The family also wishes to thank the second floor staff at Extendicare Falconbridge for their kindness and compassionate care. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Civic Memorial Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
