MANTYLA, Lea Marjatta (Jokela) Mantyla - In loving memory of Lea Marjatta (Jokela) Mantyla, 69 years, who passed away Friday, August 3rd, 2007 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Lea was born in Finland, where she married Sointu in 1964. She was a woman of great faith and dedicated to her church, she was active on the Altar Guild, at the Bible Study, with the Mission Circle and especially with the church choir where she loved to sing and share her music. Lea was extremely devoted to her family and her friends. One of her greatest passions was being outdoors. She loved spending time at the family camp on Windy Lake. She relished being close to nature and would spend many hours quietly and happily picking blueberries. She would bring the blueberries to residents of Finlandia Koti and to other people who couldn't get out to pick blueberries themselves. Lea was always busy, always on the go. She found purpose in everyday tasks. She carried out her daily activities with great pride. She made those around her see that simple things can be grand. Beloved wife of Sointu Mantyla of Sudbury. Loving mother of Kari and Rita (husband Rodi Riccio) both of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Kaela. Dear daughter of Oiva and Mirja Jokela both predeceased. Dear sister of Antero (wife Anne) of Sudbury, Esko, Lilja and Laura and families of Finland, Laila and family of Sweden, predeceased by Liisa, Lempi and Linnea. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Private family funeral service in the St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Wednesday, August 8th, 2007. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. (Friends may call 6 - 9 p.m. Tuesday only). Interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Matthew's Church or the Cancer Center would be appreciated.
