Lucy DAMIANI

Lucy Damiani died at the age of 86 at Tri-Town Extendicare Nursing Home in Haileybury, following a long illness. She was born in Cobalt May 6, 1921, to Augusto and Rosa (Melchior) Damiani and she had resided in Cobalt all of her life with the exception of her years spent at Tri-Town Extendicare. She had been a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and of the Catholic Women’s League. She was also a member of the Haileybury Parkinson’s Exercise Group. Miss Damiani is survived by her siblings John Damiani and Teresa Damiani, both of Cobalt; nephews Richard (and Louise Boucher) Damiani of Cobalt and Jimmy (and Marion) Damiani of Red Deer, Alberta; great-nephews and great-nieces Brent and Melissa (and Cory Kuzenko), Bryce and Brittany, Lorenzo and Alexa; and her extended family Shawn Pilon. She was predeceased by her parents and by her sister-in-law Anne. The funeral mass was celebrated September 8 from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cobalt. Father John Lemire officiated. Interment followed at the Cobalt Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Memorial Fund will be greatly appreciated by the family.
