Clément Fortier, of Hearst The funeral service for Hearst resident Clément Fortier, 82, is set for Sept. 8, 2007. He died Sept. 2 at Notre-Dame Hospital. Born Nov. 21, 1924 in St-Fortunat, Québec, he worked at Hearst area sawmills for some 40 years. Predeceased by his wife Germaine (née Leblanc) Fortier in 2000 and daughter Céline in 1965, he leaves daughters Nicole Fortier of Longueuil, Qué., Réjeanne Fortier of Victoriaville, Qué., Rose-Hélène (Tom) Deitweller of Washington, D.C., Martine (Mario Barrette) Fortier of Terre Bonne, Qué., Johanne (Carl) D’Amour of North Bay, Clémence (Denis) Lecours of Kelowna, B.C.,and Guylaine (Michel) Fortin of Plessisville, Qué., and sons Réjean (Colette) of Golden Lake, Ont., and Normand (Jacqueline) Fortier of Jogues. Also surviving are his sisters Ida Fortier and Rita Fortier, both of Disraëli, Qué, a brother Roger Fortier of Victoriaville, and 24 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Rev. Rémi Lessard is to direct the 10:30 a.m. service at Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Cathedral. Commemorative donations may be made to the Hearst Foyer des pionniers Nursing Home.
