TANASIW, Ann (nee Sorkopud) - Passed away suddenly at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband Peter (1982). Ann is survived by her loving children Helen, Ben (Margarete), and Beverly (Leonard) Groeneveld. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Stephanie, Vanessa, Elisabeth and by several nieces and nephews. Also survived by her brother John, her sister Mary and sister-in-law Stella. Predeceased by her parents, and seven brothers. Ann found joy in devoting her life to her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Ann's family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Ann's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow service. Inurnment to take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, on Friday, October 5, 2007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
