HINDS, Walter Jr. (Wally). Died peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of ninety-five. Son of the late Walter and Edith Hinds. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Christine, brother Harold and sister Margaret. He is survived by his daughter Joan, former son-in-law John and much adored grandchildren Paul, Penelope and David. Following wartime service with the Winnipeg Grenadiers. Wally worked for Air Canada until his retirement. Residing first in St-James, Manitoba, later transferred to Montreal the family took up residence in Roxboro, Qc. The family acknowledges with gratitude the friendship and help from friends and neighbours which allowed Wally to continue to reside at home until a few days before his death. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, (514) 685-3344. The ashes will be taken to Winnipeg by family members in the spring of 2008. Wally will be interred in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens to lie beside his wife Christine. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal Association for the Blind will be greatly appreciated.
