CAUTY, Laura Kathleen Alexis After a valiant struggle with cancer, Laura, 24, died peacefully at home in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 surrounded by family and friends. Beloved daughter of Ann Cauty (Charlottetown) and much loved sister of Andrew Cauty and Kate Mulligan (Tony Lee) Vancouver. Predeceased by her grandparents, Tom and Kay Cauty (Charlottetown). Laura is also survived by her uncle, Arthur Cauty (Joanne) Ottawa, cousin Pierre Cauty (Karen) and their daughters Julia and Sara (Vancouver), niece and nephew Keanna and Kearin Lee (Vancouver), god-daughter Kyra McFarlene and close friends Chris, Sam, Heidi, Hannah and Elaine, as well as many other loving friends. Laura was a very caring, compassionate, generous person, and she had a special love for children. She had a unique zest for life and was an inspiration to many around her. She was motivated, talented, and had accomplished much for her young age. She had earned an IT diploma from Holland College and taken several courses working towards a Business Degree at UPEI until she was selected for a promising career with Research in Motion (RIM) in Halifax. She will be missed by all who knew her. Cremation and a private family service will take place in Halifax. A memorial gathering to celebrate Laura's life will be held at the MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel in Charlottetown on Tuesday September 25 from 6 to 9. In lieu of flowers, donations to honour Laura's memory can be made to the Laura Cauty Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Prince Edward Island.
