BOYER, Sylvia O. (nee Green) Aged 72, passed away in Ottawa on Thursday, 20 September, following a courageous eleven month battle with brain cancer. Throughout this ordeal Sylvia was supported by many devoted friends, daughter Christine, and loving husband Ted. Sylvia was born 6 September 1935, youngest daughter of Ivy and Cecil Green in Kingsbury, England. Sylvia did well in sports, gaining all her school colours and captaining most teams. Sylvia was a 'model girl', working in showrooms in West End of London (center of the rag trade). Sylvia commenced employment with Bell Canada when she arrived in Canada and quickly progressed to management positions for a very successful 37 year career. She retired in 1997. She is survived by husband, Edward (Ted) Johnson, daughter Christine A. English, grandson Jason L. Wordtmann, sisters Edna Green and Margaret Hensher. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, 27 September at the Erskine Presbyterian Church, 343 Bronson Avenue, Ottawa (corner of Bronson and MacLaren).
