McGUIRE, Joseph Michael WWII Veteran Formerly of Aylmer, Quepassed away peacefully at Groves Park Lodge, Renfrew, Ontario on September 24, 2007 in his 86th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Lois (nee Joynt) of Renfrew. Dear father to Linda (the late Donald Rector) of Renfrew and Wendy (John Taker) of Nepean. Much admired and cherished "Dewey" to Jason (Deborah Gattas) and Jeffrey (Anastasia Turner) Taker. Although too young to really know him, his memory will be passed on to his great-grandchildren Madison and Braeden Taker; Leah Turner and Maya Taker. Predeceased by brothers, John and Harold McGuire; sisters; Margaret Griffin and Olive Timm-Twynam. Survived by brothers Alfred, James and Barry McGuire. Lois, Linda and Wendy are eternally grateful for the loving care he received by everyone at Groves Park Lodge; from the doctors, nurses, personal assistants, kitchen and housekeeping staff. Their compassion and kindness will never be forgotten. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Groves Park Lodge, 470 Raglan St. N. Renfrew, Ontario or the Alzheimers Society of Renfrew County, 500 Raglan St. N. Renfrew would be appreciated. A family service to celebrate his life will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. (at Richmond Rd.), Ottawa on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. Cremation and burial at Beechwood Cemetery to follow at a later date.
