ELLIS, WILLIAM LORNE - William Lorne Ellis, 74 died at his home in Bright's Grove on Tuesday, October 9, 2007. Loving husband to Pamela King and the late Dorothy Earl (1999). Dear father of Michael and Cathy Ellis and Cheryl and Ron Wheeler. Loved by grandchildren Chris and Jeremy Ellis; Victoria, Sheldon and Katelyn Wheeler and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Wilkins-Ellis. Brother of Alvin and Dorothy Ellis, Roslin, ON and Sherla and Keith Gorrill, Debbie and Charles Gorrill, O'Leary, P.E.I. Adored Buddy of Maggie. Retired from Esso Chemical with 38 years service in 1989, Lorne cared about his community and fellow man. He was a worker in every organization that he joined: Family Campers and RVers, Lambton United Church Centre, Parker Street United Church, Lambton Shrine Club. He gave one hundred blood donations and was a volunteer canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He was a member of Liberty Lodge, No. 419 AF & AM, St. Simon of Cyrene Preceptory, No. 37, Lambton Shrine Club and Mocha Temple. The funeral service will be held at Parker Street United Church, 152 Parker St., Sarnia on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Friday afternoon from 2 to 4 and evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. at PARKER ST. UNITED CHURCH. Liberty Lodge No. 419 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Shriners' Children's Hospitals, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice; or in the spirit of Lorne, an hour of volunteer service in the community or a blood donation to Canadian Blood Services.
