SHAWANDA, Francis - In loving memory of Francis Shawanda, 65 years, who passed away Wednesday evening, October 3rd, 2007 at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current. Loving father of Boniface Roy, Gail Shawande, Abbey (Lloyd Aibens), Valerie (David Lavallee) all of Wikwemikong, and Wendel Shawanda of Toronto. Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Dear son of the late Jacob and Alice (Maiangowi) Shawanda both predeceased. Dear brother of Doris (Clem), the late Raymond, Samuel, and Eugene all predeceased, Gordon (Anna), Roselinda (Joseph), Henry (Gloria), Nancy (friend Ivan). Special sister in law Brenda (Dixie). Special friend of Katherine. Fondly remembered by Teresa. Survived by Mary, Nancy, Rene, Marina, Julian, Tina, Connie, Caroline and Louis. Predeceased by Theodore, Wilfred and Gertrude. Survived by many godchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Francis enjoyed the outdoors, baking, cooking, and harvesting traditional medicines. He loved to tell stories, had a great sense of humour, and enjoyed walking on the beach. Resting at St. Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday.
